Dr. Chris Schreiber
Veterinarian
Dr. Chris Schreiber’s love for veterinary medicine started early — age five, to be exact — while tagging along at his uncle’s veterinary clinic. (Some kids play doctor; he just added fur and feathers to the mix.)
Growing up outside of Nashville, TN, he got his first “official” veterinary job at just 15 years old and never looked back. He went on to fulfill his lifelong dream of attending Auburn University, graduating from their prestigious College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. After that, he pursued advanced training in Theriogenology (a fancy word for animal reproduction) at Oklahoma State University — where he also met the love of his life, proving that God’s plans are always better than our own timelines.
After years of practicing mixed animal medicine, Dr. Schreiber and his wife, Nicole, made Foley, Alabama their home in 2012. For the next 13 years, he honed his skills in small animal medicine while building lasting relationships within the community. In November 2025, he’s bringing his dream full circle by opening Schreiber Veterinary Hospital, a practice built on faith, integrity, respect, and excellence — and a whole lot of heart.
When he’s not caring for pets (or their humans), you might find Dr. Schreiber teaching others to fly as a certificated flight instructor, riding horses with his family, backpacking through the great outdoors, or playing bass, guitar, keyboard, or drums on his church’s praise team. He’s a family man at heart and loves spending time with Nicole and their two beautiful daughters above all other things.
- His favorite candy? Peanut M&M’s (because protein and chocolate is a balanced diet, right?).
- His favorite ice cream? Mint chocolate chip — cool, classic, and just the right amount of bold.
- His favorite movie? Top Gun — naturally. (He’s got the need… the need for speed.)
- His favorite time of year? Summer — longer days, warmer weather, and more time for family adventures.
